Catembe Gallery Hotel is strate ically situated, across the bay of Maputo. Easily accessible by boat (10 minutes), Catembe Gallery Hotel enables you to host your seminar or function in a serene and idyllic setting out of Maputo, yet it is sufficiently close to enable participants to return or visit Maputo at the day’s business.


When crossing the bay by water taxi (4),which takes around 7-10 minutes only, participants will be picked up by our Hotel Minibus and brought to the premises in 7 minutes. Alternatively, if coming by car on the car ferry (public transport), the hotel is situated 3,5 km on the road to Belavista/Ponta do Ouro. Secure parking is available at the hotel. Private transfer straight to the Hotel jetty is also available upon request.


Our biggest conference room has a seating capacity of 100 participants in auditorium style. In addition, two adjacent breakaway rooms for 15 people are at your disposal. Our second conference room (Museum Samora Machel) is for groups up to 30 participants. The facilities are air-conditioned and are suitable for all types of events, whether seminars, meetings, cocktail parties, lunches or dinners, weddings banquets.

Opening August 2014 of our brand new Boardroom,with a capacity for 14 people, equipped with datashow, flipshart, AirCon.

Standard equipment in the conference package includes flipchart, whiteboards, lectern and projection screen. Other items, such as data projectors and PA systems are available by prior arrangement at an additional charge. Fax and internet are available

Activities Offered

Catembe Gallery Hotel has a variety of activities available for its clients and almost all are free of charge.

Private jetty and boats for hire for skiing, bay cruises on the river and excursions to Xefina island. Relaxing massages in our massage room.

Overnight Accommodation

The hotel offers a variety of accommodation options ranging from penthouse suites, luxury and standard rooms, to a self-catering apartment. In total we have 25 rooms and can accommodate around 30 people in single beds. Almost all have sea-view and private balcony, air conditioning, telephone, TV and internet. Some have a spa bath and double Brazilian hammock.

Refreshment & Meals

Meals are served in the restaurant, on the balcony or by the pool. Our catering has earned a good reputation with the full range of buffets including meats, vegetarian, seafood and local dishes. Restaurant Marisol is renowned for its fresh seafood, LM prawns and homemade piri - piri’s. An example of a buffet menu can be sent to you on request.
